Yes, that’s the default WordPress first post title, but also typically the first program you write when learning a programming language, so it’s appropriate enough given what this blog will cover.
I’ll be blogging about web development here. The technology that I work with currently is Ruby on Rails. I’ve gotta say, after two years of it, I’m still smitten. But I’ll spare you the Rails-gushing. There’s enough of that on the web already.
I’ve also worked with a number of other web frameworks and non-web programming environments. So I realize that starting a Rails-focused blog, while fun for now, is probably shortsighted. I may touch on other areas of technology as time and interest dictate.
I also have a personal blog and a music blog as well, neither of which are heavily trafficked or very interesting at this point. I also tumble log at tj.tumblr.com. I’m finding the tumble log format to be a lot of fun.
So, there’s the first post. More of an ‘about’ really. Nothing interesting at all yet, but when I get some real content on here, I’ll spread the word.
